Tyga’s album Careless World: Rise Of The Last King dropped last week and it’s first week sales add up to 61,488, which is a shame because his album is phenomenal. Tyga took an L when best Buy and Target, two of the nation’s largest retailers, pulled his album after it was discovered that Martin Luther King’s estate has not cleared the use a part of MLK’s I Have A Dream speech (which i thought would be public domian by now, but whatever). The speech airs at the end of one of my favorite songs on the album Careless World. Target displayed the following message where the album was, “Due to a manufacturer product recall, the Tyga: Careless World CD that is featured in this week’s ad will not be available. We apologize for any inconvenience. Rain checks are not available.” Tyga’s album had experienced many push backs and last time i spoke to Tyga he revealed to me that the push backs were due to problems with getting samples cleared. It’s a shame that in the end it was still an issue. The sales are almost entirely from online sales. Walmart still carries the album, go cop it! The album features Pharrell, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Robin Thicke, Nas, Wale, J.Cole and Marsha Ambrosius.
