Drake is back in the headlines with more news about his Aaliyah project. He first made headlines when announcement was made that he would be executive producing the first musical project surrounding the singer since her death in 2001.  He made headlines again after the media and fans criticized him for not including Timbaland and Missy Elliott in the project. Then the YMCMB star made headlines after the “One in a Million” singer’s family released a statement saying that they “were not supporting any project surrounding their loved one which caused people to question Drake and the authenticity of the album. Now on the heels of a new Aaliyah song Enough Said being released, stating that Timbaland would be involved in the project, and announcing that the album is in fact official, Drake is setting the record straight once and for all. He told various media outlets at his OVO Festival

“It’s all off a new Aaliyah project me and 40 are commanding. 40 is doing some incredible music right now. To get 13 to 14 Aaliyah songs I mean everybody should be excited. It’s not about me or about 40, it’s about her and her fans and us just getting the opportunity to give you something we feel is great. The poeple around her, everybody from her family to her old management were just like ‘If there’s anybody who can do it right now it’s me and 40. We’re going to pull in some classic people, like anybody who used to work with Aaliyah or who was essential in her career we definitely hope to have them involved. So it’s great. You get a new Aaliyah album this year on top of everything.”

We’re glad that everything is solved and we can’t to hear the album
