Mom & Aunt of Teen That Killed Georgia Baby Arrested – The mother and aunt of the 17 year old teenager De’Marquise Elkins who was charged with the death of the 13 month old Georgia have both been arrested. The baby was in a stroller on a walk with his mom when he was shot. The arrests took place after De’Marquise’s first court appearance. Karima and Katrina Elkins were charged with making false statements to police hiding facts and providing false documents. Elkins’ aunt lied and told police that he was with her at the time of the shooting. The baby’s mother confidently picked out Elkins and 13 year old Lang out of a photo lineup. Their lawyers maintain their innocence and Lang’s grandmother said, “My grand baby ain’t like that. He a baby, but he’s not a baby killer. So they need to get it straight. He’s not a baby killer.”

Herpes Viruses May Lead To Memory Loss – The virus that leads many to get cold sores may be behind cognitive problems and memory loss later on in life. A new research study has found that people who had higher levels of the herpes simplex type 1in their system were more likely to have cognitive defects. The link has been found to be greater among women with lower levels of education and no health insurance and in people who do not exercise. People who had higher levels of infection were 25% more likely to have lower cognitive scores. There is some question about the validity of the study because the sample was not representative of the entire population.

Head Found On NJ Golf Course In 1989 Finally Identified – Police have identified a head that was found 25 years ago on a gold course as Heidi Balch. They think that she was the first woman of 17 who were killed by Joel Rifkin doing a four-year serial killing spree. He was caught in 1993 after he was pulled over for a traffic violation and officers found a dead body in his trunk. Rifkin originally admitted that he disposed of a head and legs in that location but the connection hasn’t been confirmed until now through DNA testing. He was ultimately sentenced to more than 200 years in prison for the killings.

Colorado Theater Shooting Suspects Pleads Guilty – James Holmes, the man who went into a Colorado movie theater during a premiere of The Dark Knight- leaving 12 people dead and 70 people injured. Holmes planned the assault for months before he went into the theater armed and in body armored to conduct the massacre. The specifics of the deal haven’t been disclosed but is believed that he will agree to life in prison without parole instead of the death penalty. Prosecutors haven’t said whether they will accept the deal or not.

Dog Put Car In Drive, Injures PA Man – Pennsylvania police are saying that a dog who was left alone in a car accidentally put the car into gear! The moving car struck a pedestrian who was trying to stop the car from hitting a parked car. The man hit his head and was knocked unconscious. He has since been treated at a hospital for his injuries.

Men Busted For Smoking Pot Outside Of NJ Police Station – 3 men were so eager for their wake and bake that they lit up outside of a police station! The four men were parked in the station’s lot smoking weed when an officer smelled the aroma coming from the vehicle. The four men ranging in ages from 21 to 23 were arrested and 15 small bags of weeds and more than 12 ecstasy pills were found. The were all charged with possession.

Researchers Find Treatment To Kill Cancer Tumors – Researchers have discovered a drug that has killed every kind of cancer tumor that it has come in contact with. The drug blocks a protein that is called CD47 which usually prevents the body from fighting the disease. Scientists have built an antibody that blocks cancer’s CD47 and have tested them in mice with human tumors in them. The team has been granted $20 million to further develop their research on human safety tests.
