After unveiling some new songs at a performance, Kanye West played his new album Yeezus at an exclusive listening party at Milk Studios in NYC Monday night and Beyonce, Jay-Z,Timbaland, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip and DJ Khaled all attended the party.
The album features contributions from Travi$ Scott, Hudson Mohawke, Mike Dean, and Daft Punk (who worked on 4 songs). Chief Keef and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon are also guests on the track “Can’t Handle My Liquor.” Rick Rubin executive produced the album. Kanye said,
“Collectively, collaboratively, we didn’t give a f*ck about what nobody said from the outside looking in. We just wanted to make the best product possible and this is just the beginning of an entirely new mentality of how to make music directly for the people. It’s about delivering some sh*t for ya’ll to go to work to, ride to, listen to when you’re working out and sh*t, whatever ya’ll doing to provide a soundtrack to this sh*t. We’re gonna keep on doing this sh*t over and over and over, making sh*t from my core, from my gut.”
The album will be releasing June 18th.
