Celebrities had some strong reactions to the Trayvon Martin ruling when it was announced on Saturday night. Meek Mill and Wale both took to Twitter to speak about how twisted “the system” and retweeted links to protests and constructive calls-to-action. Meek even changed his profile picture to one of Trayvon as a young boy and tweeted “It’s not about black and white or any other race..It’s about the value of a black kid life being very low in America..With a black president. Can’t imagine a grown man taking the life of my son because he thought he looked suspicious!”

Beyonce held a moment of silence at her concert in Nashville on her Mrs. Carter World Tour. Beyonce then sang the chorus of “I Will Always Love You” before transitioning into her hit “Halo.”

New York Giants Victor Cruz tweeted, “Thoroughly confused. Zimmerman doesn’t last a year before the hood catches up to him.”  That tweet has been deleted. Young Jeezy released a song in honor of Trayvon called “It’s A Cold World.”

Nicki Minaj tweeted “WOW. And our taxes paid for that trial. We just paid to see a murderer walk free after killing an innocent unarmed little boy. #GodBlessAmerica.” Diddy tweeted, “IN MEMORY OF TRAYVON MARTIN!!! REST IN PEACE YOUNG KING!!! ANY DEATH OF A KID IS A TRAGEDY!! WAKE UP!! My heart is truly broken. We dedicate this video to Trayvon Martin+his family. God Bless our children.” He added, “#myTruth I am blessed to have 6 beautiful kids. I’m hurt and I’m mad as hell! My heart goes out to the family. He followed him! F*ck That!”

Russell Simmons is calling for peace in the wake of the high emotions and anger as a result of the verdict and Rihanna tweeted “Only in America! #TrayvonMartin. This is the saddest news ever!!! #whatsjustice #pray4theMartinFamily.” She added,”A child was gunned down for no reason! And nothing about that sounds like murder? My baby brother is 17, this rocked my whole sh*t!#thesystemisandhasalwaysbeenphucked.”

Trayvon’s parents Tracy and Sybrina also tweeted their thoughts.  Sybrina wrote, “Lord during my darkets hour I lean on you. You are all that I have. At the end of the day, GOD is still in control. Thank you for all your prayers and support. I will love you forever Trayvon!!! In the name of Jesus!! Tracy tweeted, “Even though I am broken hearted my faith is unshattered I WILL ALWAYS LOVE MY BABY TRAY.”
