Kanye West is definitely looking out for his community! His nonprofit organization Donda’s House will be teaming up with the ARK of St. Sabina community center to create a music writing and production program called “Got Bars” for at-risk youth in his native Chicago. The program will be a 10 week course for youth from 15-24. In a statement Kanye said, “My mom spent her life as an educator and I am happy that Donda’s House can pick up her torch and honor her life’s mission”. “Got Bars” director, Rhmefest, also issued a statement saying, “I am so happy to launch “Got Bars” to honor Kanye West’s mother’s memory and to fulfill one of my Alder manic campaign goals. “Got Bars” will change our youth musically, get them healthy and keep them busy in a creative, peaceful environment.” The initial pilot launch of the program will be made available to a number of participants that they will be accepting applications from next week. Word is that an EP of the program’s tracks will be released.
