Money Woes Could Delay Opening Of Philly Schools– The Philadelphia school system has been dealing with massive financial debt and now the opening of schools on-time is being threatened by the financial problems. According to reports schools will not open, open late or open on a part time schedule on September 9th unless the district is assured that is will receive $50 million from the city by August 16th. The money would go towards fully staffing the schools which as of right now only have a principal, secretary and a few classroom teachers. Mayor Nutter is working with other state officials to develop a city borrowing plan that will utilize a 1% sales tax. Council President Darrell Clarke wants some of it put toward unfunded city pensions. Clarke did say they would give the school district the 50 mill they need if for exchange they received some of the extra real estate they have including the closed schools.
Man Allegedly Kills Wife, Posts Photo Of Her Body To Facebook– The craziness in Florida never seems to end. 31 year old Derek Medina turned himself into the South Miami police station after claiming to have killed his 26 year old wife. He told police that her body was at their home and according to his Facebook page he was telling the truth. Medina posted photos of his wife’s bloody body along with a confession on his page. His post read “I’m going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys take care Facebook people you will see me in the news my wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope u understand me”. His wife’s daughter from a previous relationship was at the home and unharmed. Charges against Medina are pending.
11 Year Old Entrepreneur-An 11 year old from Memphis, Tennessee is making a big name for himself in the fashion world. The pre-teen, Young Master Bridges aka Mo, as been designing and sewing his own ties since he was 9 years old when his grandmother taught him. He told Fox news, “I really was a young dapper man and I couldn’t find any other boe ties that I really liked…so my grandma- my lovely grandma- she’s been sewing for over 80 years or something crazy like that so I wanted to start my own business making bow ties.” Bridges has a variety of styles and fabrics to choose from and has made over $30K from his business. His ties are also branching out into retain stores in Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina and Arkansas. Oprah Winfrey even gave him a shoutout in O Magazine! Bridge’s isn’t all about stacking cash for himself either! He also has a product line called “Go Mo!” that gives scholarship money to kids so they can go to summer camp! In the future he hopes to add neck ties, pocket squares and other mens’ accessories to his line in addition to a new line of kids blazers and pants.
Man Arrested For Rubbing Buttered Toast On SUV– A 34 year old man from South Carolina has been arrested after his neighbor called police and told him that the man was rubbing buttered toast all over his SUV. The damage to the car has been estimated at $1 and the suspect has since been released from jail on a personal recognizance bond.

Teen Graffiti Artist Tasered To Death By Cops In Miami– 18 year old Israel Hernandez-Llach was spray painting a boarded up McDonalds on Tuesday morning when he was tasered by Miami police when he refused to stop. Llach died as a result of his injuries and his parents are now seeking out an independent investigation in what they call “an act of barbarism” on the police department’s part and the ultimate murder of their son. Friends of the victim said that officers were cracking jokes about catching the teen and how he stiffened up when they tased him. Autopsy and toxicology reports are still pending.
