Parents Television Council Issue Complaint Against VMA’s – The Parents Television Council, a group dedicated to fighting explicit TV programming, is coming after MTV because of the recent VMA Awards show. The PTC is upset that the show was rated TV-14, suggesting that it was appropriate for 14 year olds, but had condom commercials and half naked, sexual performances by Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus. A PTC spokesman said, “This much is absolutely clear: MTV marketed adults-only material to children while falsely manipulating the content rating to make parents think the content was safe for their children. MTV continues to sexually exploit young women by promoting acts that incorporate ‘twerking’ in a nude-colored bikini. How is this image of former child star Miley Cyrus appropriate for 14-year-olds?” Ironically the p-popping princess’ dad, Billy Rae Cyrus, is a celebrity volunteer for the PTC.
