Dr. Conrad Murray Wants A TV Special– Conrad Murray, the man who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for giving Michael Jackson a fatal dose of Propofol, is looking to make a profit from his situation. He has allegedly been working on sealing some multi-million dollar book deals so that he can “tell-all” about the late King of Pop’s life and death upon his release from prison in October. Murray said that if the Jackson family continues to “push him to the limit” with their  allegations and wrongful death lawsuit he will not hesitate to tell Jackson’s dirt which he says will tarnish the family’s reputation. He said, “’I will continue to be faithful and endure unless and until I’m pushed to the limit and endurance is no more.” Katherine Jackson, Michael’s mom has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against AEG Live who she belives is responsible for Michael’s death by negligently hiring Murray. The lawsuit is worth $100 million.

NAACP Introduces Trayvon Law– The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has created a law that they hope will prevent situations similar to those that led to the untimely death of Trayvon Martin. The NAACP’s president said, “The killing of Trayvon Martin is a heartbreaking tragedy, but his death must not be in vain. Trayvon’s Law will serve as the foundation for community advocates as they work to remove laws that contributed to his death and create new laws that with prevent future tragedies.” Travon’s Law is a set of bills that aim to “end racial profiling, repeal stand your ground laws, form effective civil complaint review boards to provide oversight of police misconduct, improve training for community watch groups, mandate law enforcement to collect data on homicide cases involving people of color, and address the “school to prison pipeline.” It is the NAACP’s hope that these bills will be advocated for at a local, state and national level.

Detroit’s Housing Market Includes Homes Listed for $1 and $100– It’s no question that Detroit is in a dismal economic state with their recent file for bankruptcy and what not. The struggle is made even clearer by the fact that some homes in the city are on the market from anywhere between $1 and $100. There are many homes that are on the market for under $1000. Some real estate agents have said that they have people calling who are willing to buy between 100 and 200 properties in an effort to fix up the homes and resell them.

Oprah Winfrey Refuses To Befriend People Who Use The “N-Word” – If you use the ‘n-word’ Oprah Winfrey has no time for you. During a recent interview she said, “You cannot be my friend and use that word around me. It shows my age, but I feel strongly about it. … I always think of the millions of people who heard that as their last word as they were hanging from a tree. Do we live in a land where Martin Luther King’s dream has been ultimately fulfilled? No. Has part of the dream been fulfilled? Are more people judged by the content of their character than by the color of their skin? Yes. Is everybody judged by the content of their character? Absolutely not.” The director of her upcoming film “The Butler” said that he used the term frequently until Winfrey sat down and reminded him of the words power.

Cleveland Kidnapper Ariel Castro Says He’s “Not A Monster”– Ariel Castro, the man accused of kidnapping and holding three women as sex slaves for nearly a decade, has spoken out to say that he is not the monster he has been depicted as. A judge sentenced Castro to life in prison without the possibility of parole plus 1000 years for his wrong doing. During sentencing he asked his victims to forgive him and said that he was not a monster. He said, “I am not a violent person. I know what I did is wrong, but I am not a violent person. I simply kept them there without them being able to leave. To clear the record, I am not a monster, I did not prey on these women, I just acted on my sexual instincts because of my sexual addiction. As God is my witness, I never beat these women like they’re trying to say I did. I never tortured them.” He said that he was merely “sick” and had an addiction to masturbation. He pled guilty to 937 counts of aggravated murder, kidnapping, rape and assault in exchange for not receiving the death penalty.

Aaron Hernandez Writes Letter From Jail, Claims He’s Innocent– Former New England Patriot’s player Aaron Hernandez has not stayed out of the news since his arrest. He has been tied to multiple murders around the country. In response to a fan’s letter of support Hernandez wrote back “Your letter meant a lot and was very true! I know everything happens for a reason and I know ‘God’ has a plan for me and something good will come out of this. The world just makes things out of false accusations and it will all die down especially when they say NOT GUILTY and all the people who turned on me will feel like crap. I’ve always been a great person an[d] known for having an amazing heart! I am a strong person and nothing will break me. Can’t wait to sign this again when I’m playing again an (sic) prove all the haters and down talkers wrong!” That may be a long shot. Hernandez autographed the letter and signed it with his Patriot’s number.

Flava Flav Says Jay Z and Kendrick As Not Hip Hop– 54 Flava Flav has spoken out about what he considers real hip hop. During an interview after his most recent performance in England he said, “Right now, a lot of rap music today is being created at very low tempos. There’s no more of that, ‘Wave your hands in the air, wave them like you just don’t care.’ You know, something that makes you want get out there and break dance.” He went on to list artists that he doesn’t believe fall in line with his view of hip hop including Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne and NIcki Minaj. He said that eveyone is making great “rap” records but that there aren’t too many good “hip hop” records out today.

Rapper Charged With Murder After Rapping About ItVirginia rapper Twain Gotti was arrested earlier this week after rapping about a murder that he allegedly committed. The 22 year old was charged with the death of a 20 year old and a 16 year old after his rap lyrics included the almost blatant confession: “Everybody saw when I [expletive] choked him. But nobody saw when I [expletive] smoked him, roped him, sharpened up the shank then I poked him…had me crackin up so I joked him, it is betweezy six feet ova, told ya [expletive] with my money I’ll roast ya.” He is currently being held in a Newport News city jail.
