Kanye West and Jesus

Kanye West kicked off his Yeezus tour in a major way over the weekend in Seattle. There were many religious references throughout the show including disciples, the Virgin Mary and incense being carried across the stage like in a Catholic Mass. Kanye wore 4 masks throughout 90% of the show.  One of the masks looked like the devil. West had a man dressed up as Jesus as a part of the show. Towards the end of the set the Jesus look-a-like came out and Kanye said “White Jesus, is that you? … Oh, s***!”  and then takes off his mask and says “I been looking for you all my life” and then fake Jesus said I’ve been here all along.  Then his 2004 track ‘Jesus Walks’ dropped.  He even ripped his leather pants during the performance. Sounds like a great performance. Kendricks on that bill too! Many people believe his show is “Blasphemy,” however everyone said that about Madonna when he burned crosses in the 80s and now she’s considered an icon. Kanye West got people talking again right after the show when he announced that the tour was cancelled until October 31st due to “unforeseen circumstances”.  Check the set-list and video below.
