Two Arrests So Far In Bikers’ Shocking Attack Of NYC Driver – Two motorcyclists have been arrested in connection with the video that went viral a few days ago where several men from a motorcycle gang pulled a man out of his SUV and beat him up in front of his family. Yesterday 42 year old Allen Edwards and 28 year old Christopher Cruz were in police custody. They are now out on bail, however police are looking the man who smashed the window on the SUV. for The two are due to be arraigned on Tuesday.

No New Trial For Jerry Sandusky – A three-judge Superior Court panel has decided that former Penn State assistant football coach, Jerry Sandusky, will not get a new trial after his conviction of sexually abusing 10 boys. Sandusky is arguing that his lawyers didn’t have enough time to prepare and that the presiding judge mishandled instructions to the jury. His defense lawyers are planning to ask the Supreme Court to review the case. If he is not granted a retrial he will have to continue serving his 30-60 year sentence. Given that he’s 69 years old…that’s life.

Study Says More Women Are Paying For Half Of Ring – A new poll found on The Knot’s Facebook page revealed that more and more women are willing to pitch in and go half with their boyfriends in paying for their engagement ring. Women who commented on the post had things to say like: We live in a generation where women work and are often breadwinners of the family. So why should the man have to pay for a ring solely?” and “Welcome to the women’s rights movement, ladies, you’re only a few decades late.” Women against this called it “tacky” and a “horrible idea.” 3 words for you OH HELL NO!

Motorcyle Attack .. Biker’s Wife Says Husband Is Victim – Dayana Mieses, the wife of the motorcycle rider who was thrown off of his bike and run over in the motorcycle gang vs. SUV attack, says that her husband is the real victim in this case. She says that her husband broke both of his leg and has serious spinal injuries. She told reporters, “There’s no hope for his back. They crushed his spine. They broke it in two different places, so he will be forever, forever paralyzed.” The riders were all between the ages of 20 and 30 and a part of an unauthorized motorcycle rally. The injured rider, Edwin, is an aspiring rapper from Brooklyn and has two kids aged 15 and 9.

No Progress With Shutdown – President Obama met with congressional leaders yesterday for the first time since the government shutdown, but there was no sign of any progress made to end the standoff. In a CNBC interview before the meeting, Obama said he wouldn’t negotiate with Republicans until the government is reopened and Congress votes to raise the debt limit, saying, “If we get in the habit where a few folks, an extremist wing of one party, whether it’s Democrat or Republican, are allowed to extort concessions based on a threat [to] undermine the full faith and credit of the United States, then any president who comes after me, not just me, will find themselves unable to govern effectively.” Basically, I’m not gonna let you man handle me Republicans. Also yesterday, the Republican-controlled House approved legislation to reopen the nation’s parks and the National Institutes of Health, but both the Democratic-led Senate and the White House said they wouldn’t approve piecemeal legislation to restart parts of the government here and there.

Everything Is Not Shutdown – The military service academy football teams will be playing their games this weekend despite the government shutdown. That means Navy will play Air Force as scheduled and Army will take on Boston College. However, the decision affects only this weekend’s games, with future games to be evaluated if the shutdown continues. The football teams will be allowed to play because the games are paid for with non-appropriated funds — which come from outside sources and aren’t approved through Congress — and because they were already planned.

J Woww Gets At Gov. Christie – Having New Jersey as a common thread doesn’t make Gov. Christie and JWoww the best of friends. Christie has made it clear that he was no fan of Snooki and JWoww or their hit television series ‘The Jersey Shore.’ While J was leaving a restaurant she was asked by a camera man her thoughts on the state governor. She said, “He’s retarded. He’s a disgrace to New Jersey, just like we were.” She later tweeted an apology for using the word ‘retarded’ that way but did say, “I do find him disgusting and judgmental. I’m for gay equality.”
