During their acceptance speech for ‘Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Album’ Macklemore and Ryan Lewis continued their mission to promote social unity and paid homage to Trayvon Martin. After quoting Martin Luther King Jr. by saying “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” he went one toask people to take a stand against racial profiling. He said, “Due to the fact that we are in Florida tonight accepting this award I want to acknowledge Trayvon Martin and the hundreds and hundreds of kids each year that are dying due to racial profiling and the violence that follows it. This is really happening. These are our friends, our neighbors, our peers and our fans, and it’s time that we look out for the youth and fight against racism and the laws that protect it.” Later on in the show the duo were streamed live from their performance in Miami of ‘Can’t Hold Us’.  They have a song about justice for the gays, so ut seems they guys are out here to take a stand against injustice. Not only do they make quality music, but they take a stand. I like these guys!
