Happy birthday to Rick Ross who is 38!

Sherman Explains Wildin Out On TV – The internet went crazy after the 49ers vs. Seahawks game when Richard Sherman went HAM on Michael Crabtree during a post-game interview with Erin Andrews. Sherman is explaining the beef in an essay he wrote. Apparently during an off-season outing in Arizona, Crabtree said “something” to Sherman but Sherman wouldn’t say what “it” was. He also said after the Seahawks won he went over to shake Crabtrees, but he was ignored. Sherman says “Then I patted him, stuck out my hand and said, ‘Good game, good game.’ That’s when he shoved my face, and that’s when I went off. He said, “Erin Andres interviewed me after the game and I yelled what was obvious: If you put a subpar player across from a great one, most of the time you’re going to get one result. As far as Crabtree being a top-20 NFL receiver, you’d have a hard time making that argument to me.” He also spoke about people labeling him a thug. He said “don’t judge a person’s character by what they do between the lines. Judge a man by what he does off the field, what he does for his community, what he does for his family.” Now Shermans brother is saying this beef goes back to the summer. According to his brother Brandon, they both at a charity event and Sherman went to shake Crabtree’s hand, and Crabtree tried to start a fight. Read what he had to say HERE.

Mayor Says Chris Christie Allegedly Held Sandy Money Hostage – There’s even more hot water for New Jersey governor Chris Christie. The mayor of Hoboken, Dawn Zimmer, has accused Christie of purposefully withholding Hurricane Sandy relief funds unless she supported a redevelopment plan he was in support of. Zimmer appeared on CNN to explain how a member of Christie’s team told her that Hoboken receiving the funds depended on her support of a real estate project Christie developed. She said, “As they pursue this investigation, I will provide any requested information and testify under oath about the facts of what happened when the Lieutenant Governor came to Hoboken and told me that Sandy aid would be contingent on moving forward with a private development project.” In response to Zimmer’s allegations Christie’s spokesperson Colin Reed said that her statements are based on “partisan politics”.

Gov Corbett Bails On Central High – Remember the protest I told you about on Friday. They were protesting Gov. Corbett coming to Central to reward them for their academic excellent and since he has passed lots of educational cuts people thought it was hypocrtical. Instead of facing a crowd of students and parents that had gathered at Central High School to protest some of his actions, Governor Corbett dodged his appearance and relocated his event. Instead of recognizing the nominations he made to the Philadelphia School Reform Commission at the high school he made the announcements at the Bellevue Building. A representative from the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers said, “We want to make sure the governor knows what Philadelphia school children are missing in their schools…Our children are working with out having all the things necessary that they should have in order to get a good education.” The location was changed just an hour prior to the event’s start and no official reason was given for the switch. The Philadelphia School District spokesperson also made a statement saying, “We want to provide more for students, but we need the funds for it…We need more money from our partners and we need more savings from our labor partners…That’s what we’re looking for.” SMH Coward.

Obama’s Thoughts On Weed – During an interview with The New Yorker, President Obama explained how he doesn’t think that weed is worse than drinking alcohol. He said, “As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from cigarettes that  I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don’t think that it is more dangerous than alcohol.” While he said that he doesn’t think it’s worse than alcohol he made it clear that he does not condone the practice. He continued by saying that smoking weed, “is not something I encourage, and I’ve told my daughters I think it’s a bad idea, a waste of time and not very healthy.” He made note of the disproportionate amount of minority kids that are locked up for smoking pot and said, “we should not be locking up kids or individual users for long stretches of jail time…when some of the folks who are writing those laws have probably done the same thing.”

Lupita Is Winning – Actress Lupita Nyong’o of 12 Years A Slave took home a Screen Actors Guild Award for ‘female actor in a supporting role’ on Saturday! In response to her win the actress said, “I couldn’t sentimentalize the pain that I would have to go through…I had the privilege of going at in an imaginary world. Being aware of that made it very doable. Not to say it was easy. But I was privileged to do so.” She also took home a Golden Globe because 12 Years A Slave Won For Best Drama Movie and she is up for an Oscar.
