M.I.A is being sued for a big chunk of change thanks to her bird-flipping antics during the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show. M.I.A made a guest appearance during Madonna’s performance of “Give Me All Your Luvin” when she flicked off the crowd and mouthed “I don’t give a sh*t”. After the performance the FCC received 222 complaints. She’s being sued by the NFL for $16 million for “restitution” and breach of contract for “flagrant disregard for the values that form the cornerstone of the NFL brand and the Super Bowl.” MIA has responded calling the league “bullies” for trying to make an example out of her for standing up against them.
