Trouble has been following Chris Brown for the past couple of years. He has been in jail for about two months so far and before that served 5 months in court ordered rehab. Brown appeared in an LA court today where he admitted to violating his probation when he got into a physical altercation with a man outside of a DC club. After the admission of guilt the judge immediately sentenced Chris to serve 365 days in jail. With his rehab and jail time already served that would leave another 131 days but his lawyer doesn’t expect him to serve that time in its entirety. His attorney Mark Geragos said:
I would expect that Chris should be out of jail before the weekend’s up or before Monday…f he isn’t out by Monday, then I would expect he’s getting special treatment. He’s got over 230 days credit on a 365 (day sentence) and generally the sheriff is releasing on a lot less than that…We’re gratified that he was not sentenced to state prison, gratified that he’s still on probation…I think that Chris has learned quite a bit through this experience and I’m anxious to see how he does, as I think everybody else is.
After he’s released he will have to perform 700 hours of community by working three days a week. He will also have to attend anger management and family counseling sessions in addition to submitting to random drug tests.
