T.I.’s new docuseries ‘Sisterhood of Hip Hop’- that he’s executive producing for Oxygen- will have some pretty big celebrity appearances. Cameos on the show will be coming from Eve, Pharrell, Lil Jon, Rick Ross, Tank, Irv Gotti and more. The show will focus on the careers of female rappers Bia, Brianna Perry, Diamond, Nyemiah Supreme and Siya. “They’re allowing people to get a chance to see who we are on a personal level, but they’re also giving a chance for people to see who we are as competitors and performers and artists,” Diamond told MTV News.
Oxygen’s senior VP released the following statement,
“The talented artists featured in Sisterhood of Hip Hop are vibrant characters that will resonate with Oxygen’s young, female viewers…The optimistic and empowering nature of the show is truly unique and we look forward to rooting for each woman’s success and giving fans the opportunity to follow along on their journey.”
Really excited for this show, which will highlight female rappers because they ARE out there and they ARE dope. Judging from the title it seems this will be more empowering than ratchet and we all need to see more women getting along on TV. This will be a very much needed addition to combat the already numerous shows where women are throwing drinks and punching each other in the face. ‘Sisterhood of Hip Hop’ will premiere on August 12th with a special preview on July 22nd. Can’t wait to watch!
