News: Lil Wayne Files Another Lawsuit

Lil Wayne‘s legal team has been busy. His lawsuit against Birdman is still pending and Weezy is now suing Universal Music Group over Drake, Tyga and Nicki Minaj royalties. He’s also suing Soundexchange. Wayne claims he has not been paid tens of millions of dollars in royalties he deserves for discovering and nurturing the talents under his Young Money label and that Universal instead they paid themselves. Wayne claims the label used the money that was owed to him to repay Cash Money debt including a 100 million advance. He claims these debts were not his obligations. The confusion is clearly because Young Money is an entity under Cash Money which is then under Universal. Soundexchange is looped into this as the entity that collects and distributes digital performance royalties on behalf of copywrite owners. He is suing for $40 million in damages.
