People who have a free subscription to Spotify can expect some changes to their service soon. The steaming service has signed a new multi-year deal with Universal Music Group. The deal says that albums released under the label can have a ‘2 week paywall’ which means that free users won’t have access to them during the first two weeks after they are released. This deal is currently only confirmed for UMG artists but Spotify is allegedly in talks with Sony and Warner as well.
