Colin Kaepernick is essentially being black balled by the NFL and fans and celebrities are rallying behind him. One of those in his corner is filmmaker Spike Lee. Lee took to Twitter to announce a rally in support of Kaepernick on August 23rd. The “United We Stand” rally will be held at 5PM at the NFL headquarters on Park Avenue in Manhattan. Organizers of the event want to confirm that it is ‘not anti-NFL’ or ‘anti-police’, it is simply a demonstration of solidarity for Kaepernick who has been working to attack issues of injustice both in the United States and internationally.
