Yesterday Donald Glover took home his first Emmy and made history at the same time. The actor, musician, writer and director won the award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for his FX show Atlanta. He is the first black person in the award show’s 69 year history to win and was presented with it by Dave Chappelle. During his acceptance speech Glover thanked ‘the great algorithm’ that put everyone in the show together, his parents, his crew and his best friend. He also took home the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
