Submit Your Music I am always looking for new talent. For the most part I play and interview signed artists. However, there are always the select few that are not signed, but are amazing that make it on my show. This section is for those people! If you are serious about your musical career I suggest… Make sure you have real talent. Just because your mommma says you’re good, doesn’t mean you are. If you have some talent work hard to perfect it. Singers – take vocal lessons. Rappers – read books to develop your vocabulary. Always work hard. Consistently put out good music. The more music you make and put out the better you will get and the more opportunities people will have to be exposed to you. Get an EPK (Electronic Press Kit). Every good artist has one. Include a one-page, well written, up to date, grammatically correct bio (no one wants to read a grammatically incorrect book about you – keep it short, sweet and very current). Also include a professional picture and a link to your best 2 songs. Make a lot of noise in your hometown. Get the local stations to play your songs and perform as much as you can. USE THE INTERNET. The possibilities of the internet are endless. Social Networks are free marketing tolls. Use them! Blogs are goldmines. Send your music, videos, EP’s and mixtapes to them. Upload your music to official music sites. I-Tunes, Sound Cloud, CD Baby, Tunecore and all the other sites. This will help you appear more serious about your craft and perhaps make a little money off your hard work. That’s only after you spend some money to get your music up. 😉 Don’t sit around waiting to get signed. A label is not gonna come and do everything for you. You have to develop and market yourself. You have to have it going on before they will even consider you. It’s just the way it is now. Independent labels are king in this stage of your career. And again… Work Hard. It will not be easy and it will take you years. Perseverance and dedication goes a long way. AFTER you have accomplished the above feel free to send your EPK to music@minasaywhat.com . Do not send any audio to that email. Your email will automatically be deleted if you do. Send links to 2 of your songs as well as your bio and picture. <3 @MinaSayWhat
