Performance: Made In America Day 1 (Photos And Recap) – Watch Beyonce Cover Whitney Houston – 2 Chainz and ASAP Rocky Performance

Made In America’s Day 1 in Philly was quite eventful.  ASAP Rocky, Public Enemy, 2 Chainz and Beyonce performed (among others).

Beyonce basically bodied all other performances. At one point women were fist fighting to get closer to the stage for Beyonce (before her performance). Someone even passed out. Mrs. Carter made it clear at the beginning of her set that she was not there as “Beyonce” and asked the audience to greet her with “Hey, Mrs. Carter.” She did an amazing cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” for a short period and then transitioned into “Halo.” The cover was short and I wished she sang more of it. Seemed like some of the men in the crowd were more excited to see Beyonce than the women were.  She made 7 outfit changes throughout the performance as Jay Z watch from his chair at the horse statue in front of the stage (statue pictures below).  She kept most of her set upbeat and sexy before transitioning into some of her ballads like Dangerously In Love, If I Were A Boy and Halo towards the end. Finally she said goodbye after her 90 minute set after introducing her band in a cute white pant suit pictured below.

2 Chainz had an amazing set filled with his hits as well as his verses from his rapper friends hit songs. He definitely reminded people how long his catalog is and even performed Playa Circle songs.  Made in America turned into a party during 2 Chainz set and 2 Chainz constantly reminded the audience his album drops on September 10th.

ASAP Rocky arrived 20 minutes late to his performance and only performed 5 songs. MA was hot, crowded and drink and food lines were ridiculous (of course), but overall it was a great Day 1.

As for Jay Z, he was shown on the jumbotron enjoying 2 Chainz performance and then DeadMau5 performance and walked through the crowd to his seat in front of the horse statue before his wife’s performance.

Watch the LIVE stream below, as well as Beyonce covering Whitney Houston (courtesy of DJ Juanyto), her intro, other performanes and get my pics as well.
