News: Sevyn Says 76ers Didn’t Allow Her To Perform And Desiigner Boo’d During Halftime, But The Sixers Look Good Posted on October 27, 2016October 27, 2016 By Mina SayWhat Singer Sevyn Streeter was supposed to perform the national anthem last night before the Sixers and OKC season opener in Philadelphia, but that did not happen. She says minutes before she was to sing, the organization told her that she couldn’t perform because she was wearing a “We Matter” jersey. Mina SayWhat was there and received a phone call from Sevyn 4 minutes before she was supposed to perform. Sevyn said she was not signing the anthem and told Mina to come to her dressing room. Mina was not able to get to her dressing room. Streeter says she wasn’t given a dress code or asked to show her wardrobe before hand. A Sixers dancer sang the anthem instead and she did an amazing job. The Sixers commented on this saying, “The Philadelphia 76ers organization encourages meaningful actions to drive social change. We use our games to bring people together, to build trust and to strengthen our communities. As we move from symbolic gestures to action, we will continue to leverage our platform to positively impact our community.” I was suppose to sing the national anthem at the @sixers and @okcthunder game in #Philly but minutes before @sixers organization said I could not because I was wearing a “We Matter” jersey. WTF! A video posted by 7ev (@sevyn) on Oct 26, 2016 at 5:09pm PDT In other news, the nationally televised game also featured a halftime performance from Good Music artist Desiigner. Desiigner performed his #1 Panda and during the performance he jumped around with lots of energy, but it was very visible that he was lip syncing and during the performance he took off his custom Desiigner Sixers jersey to perform shirtless. The fans boo’d him as he walked off the court. Halftime @lifeofdesiigner performance at @sixers season opener! @sixersfranklin A video posted by Mina SayWhat (@minasaywhat) on Oct 26, 2016 at 8:56pm PDT That’s not all folks. Last night during the game a Sixers fan sitting court-side flipped Russell Westbrook off. He fan gave Westbrook both of his middle fingers. Westbrook stayed calm just gave a surprised and disturbed look. He said he’s “turned a new leaf” and left it alone because reacting wouldn’t be worth the $25,000 fine. The fan was escorted from the arena. In great news despite Sixers 103-97 loss to OKC, it was a very good game! The Sixers look good! Sixers fans love Joel Embiid! After sitting on the sideline for years with an injury, Embiid scored 20 points in his first NBA game! The team looks very promising! Embiids return along with the addition of Dario Sanc, Sergio Rodriguez, Gerald Henderson Jr. and more have really turned the team around! Their next home game is Saturday October 29th at the Well’s Fargo against the Atlanta Hawks.
