Having Barack Obama in office for 8 years was big for many. For the first time many felt represented and apart of the political process. I (Mina SayWhat) even campaigned for him in Reading, PA in 2008! People felt like they belonged and for the first time our voices were going to be heard. With Barack and his amazing family packing up their things and getting ready to move out of the White House, many are concerned with who is coming next. Donald Trump certainly scares many people with his harsh policy ideas regarding Muslims and Hispanics (among other things that he has said). During this week’s Mina’s Mind podcast, Mina SayWhat speaks to Karen Civil, who is campaigning for Hillary Clinton, on the importance of voting and being involved in the process to effect real change. They also discuss recent steps hip hop and those in the culture (like Pusha T, Chance The Rapper, YG, Snoop and Wiz Khalifa) have taken to ensure we stay involved in the process.
