News: Kanye West Projects New Slaves In Philly Posted on May 24, 2013May 25, 2013 By Mina SayWhat Kanye West continues to project his song “New Slaves” on building across the world. Yesterday on 5/23 Ye blessed Philly and 23 other states and/or countries. According to his website the projections were scheduled at the Eastern State Penitentiary – 10:30-11:30pm, Franklin Institute – 9:45-10:45pm, The Barnes Foundation – 9:00-10:00pm . This didn’t come without controversy. Some organizations felt they didn’t want Kanye’s new slaves projected on their building because of the cursing and message of the song. Coincidentally, The Barnes Foundation never projected the song at the scheduled time, however The Franklin Institute (right across the street from the Barnes Foundation) did. Check pictures and video below. Check the full song below and check the rest of his SNL performance HERE. Here are some of the important parts of the message Kanye is trying to send My momma was raised in an Annotateera when Clean water was only served to the fairer skin Doing clothes you would have thought I had help But they wasn’t satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself You see it’s broke nigga racism That’s that “Don’t touch anything in the store” And this rich nigga racism That’s that “Come here, please buy more What you want, a Bentley?
