Common Performs “Sweet” LIVE at SIRIUSXM Posted on January 17, 2012January 19, 2012 By Mina SayWhat Common stopped by SiriusXM last week on 1/12 to perform some cuts off his new album The Dreamer, The Believer LIVE. This song is soooo hard and watching him do it LIVE was just amazing! Check me at 3:37 in the crowd wearing a blue shirt.. just chillin LOL! Before he performed this (4 days after he released the remix to Stay Schemin and dissed Drake) he said that Sweet was about the softer side of Hip Hop and that this song was not directed towards Drake, specifically. Common said he personally was missing the hardcore hip hop and was expressing himself. However, Drake felt different and for whatever reason took it personally (As the saying goes if the shoe fits wear it) and when Drake subliminally dissed Common on Stay Schemin than it was on. Common said. “I was saying, ‘Man, the song ‘Sweet’ was cats out there doing sweet music.’ Dude must have took offense to it, so he came out and said some things, and once he said something on record, I said something on record.” So basically Common said he was standing up for the culture and hip hop and trying to speak out on its softness, which to me resembles when Jay-Z spoke up against autotune with D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune) and the subsequent “beef” with T-Pain ensued. The difference is T-Pain didn’t want to battle with the God and never said anything hostile in return so that situation never got fully out of control. In this situation, Drake felt like he had to defend himself and now he looks crazy because there is a montsterous diss record out there that he has not and probably will not respond to because there is no way he can match Common lyrically. Drake is stupid dope. He should focus on making the music that works for him and on making friends instead of enemies. @MinaSayWhat Performances CommonLIVEsiriusxmSweat
