Mina SayWhat And Philly Chapter Grammy President Ivan Barias Talk Grammy Voting, Hip Hop Being Underserved And Kanye’s Comments

As hip hop continues to dominate the mainstream, there has been lots of talk in the past couple of years about the Grammy’s being unfair to the genre that is infant compared to some of the more established genres. Ivan Barias, producer and the President of the Philadelphia Chapter Of The Recording Academy (Grammy’s), called Mina SayWhat on Power 99 to set the record straight about the Grammy voting, why hip hop is under represented and why he chose to start the “Urban Comtemporary” Grammy category that currently exists. He calls out people like Kanye, MTV’s Rob Markman and The Dream for not acting correctly to address the issue.
