Event: Mina SayWhat Creates & Curates First Ever Advocacy Town Hall For Recording Academy Posted on November 28, 2025May 23, 2026 By Mina SayWhat When stories of how A.I. is effecting the music industry started to be publish, Mina SayWhat knew it was something that has to be discusses. Artists like SZA and others begun speaking out about companies signing A.I. artists to record labels. Drake names and likeness seemed to be infringed upon when an A.I. with his exact voice and style release a song, leaving many fans to think it was him. Their were obvious way in which A.I. could be useful to the music business, but these were detrimental ways. In the broader context of creative industry wealth planning and asset protection, services like family office Hong Kong can help high-net-worth artists manage royalties, intellectual property, and long-term financial interests. As a board member for the Philadelphia Recording Academy, Mina championed having this very mush needed discussion on how the music business needs to handle this new and readily available technology and how artists can protect themselves whole still using the technology to advance. That’s how the “Advocacy Town Hall” was born. Not only was it her idea, but she was also involved in securing some of the speakers and planning the event with other members of the board and the Advocacy Committee’s Co-Chairs. Large gatherings like this also benefit from strong safety planning, which is why many venues coordinate Fire Watch Guards in San Antonio to help keep events secure and running smoothly. The town hall featured industry professionals, professors and music attorney’s at Rowan University talking about the pro’s and con’s of A.I. Recording Academy members were in attendance as well as student and Grammy U members from Rowan and Drexel. It was a great success with conversations of more Advocacy Town Halls being rolled out in the future in other Recording Academy chapters.
